LUNCHTIME CONCERTS
Here are the details of our concerts in October :-
2nd – Piano Recital by Tim Othen. Tim has played for us several times over the years and as well as being an excellent pianist always delights us with a varied programme.
9th – Mark Hansford (baritone) accompanied by Josephine Pickering on the piano. Both of them have given us concerts in previous years. Mark very often includes some lighter songs. In order to give his voice a rest Josephine and I will probably play a piano duet half way through.
16th – Luc Walpot (harp). Luc played for us for the first time in January this year and attracted a good audience as we’d never had a harpist before, so hopefully there will be a big audience again this time.
23rd – Le Jazz duo, Chris Gradwell (clarinet) and Andrew Barratt (guitar). They too have played for us before and as their name suggests their programme is”gentle” jazz. This is the only jazz concert in the season. Chris is also part of the Wood Farm Wind Quartet who will be playing classical music for us next year on 25th March.
30th – Stella Maris Trio, Iryna Linystka (mezzo-soprano) Vicki Marilota (soprano) and Sam Baker (piano). They too have been before and are a very talented group of young musicians.
Just a reminder that all the concerts are on Wednesdays starting at 12.30 for about three quarters of an hour. Tea/coffee will be available in our Hall from 12 noon. The concerts last about three quarters of an hour. Although they are free it is only possible to put them on as we are dependent on the proceeds of a retiring collection each week with the surplus money going to a project (yet to be decided) in the Church. Do come if you’ve not been before.
