Mission Committee 2020
’Out of sight, out of mind’ is a phrase we might use of Zimbabwe in recent months. Sadly the overthrow (and subsequent death) of Robert Mugabe has not brought much relief to the suffering citizens. But there is little media coverage of their worsening situation. We can learn at first-hand when we hear about Mark and Dorcas (pictured) and their work at Rehoboth, near Bulawayo. Rehoboth is again one of the Mission Committee three charities being supported this year and, as we shall learn, they do need all the prayer and help we can give. Mark went to Zimbabwe from Exmouth, having been a client, and then a supporter, of Open Door. He has prepared a short presentation especially for us which we will share on Mission Sunday March 15th.
Then on Saturday March 28 we have our annual coffee morning stalls, so please look out items that you know others will want – then turn up and buy what others have brought! It’s a kind of re-cycling – and for a very good cause. And if you shop at Tesco, you may have noticed that ‘Homes that smile’ (one of our 2019 charities) are one of their good causes for your blue tokens this month.
